From this project, I increased my awareness of cultural representation by AI image generation. Going forward, I will be conscious of my text prompts and how data systems may interpret and process the information for image generation. I think this is important for all people using AI image generation or advanced large language models to understand how populations are being portrayed.
I will be cautious of cultural misrepresentation when I am using image generators as well as other AI resources. I appreciate the opportunity to utilize Midjourney to have a better understanding of Canadian representation in AI generation.
This project demonstrates my learning at TRU because it shows that I am able to recognize the opportunities but also the limitations of AI for education and production. Going into the work force I will be sure to include all voices and prioritize reflection and caution.
