In JOUR 3030, my assignment was to write an article that I am passionate about and want to share with a wider audience.
I have written an article describing the newly launched TRU Wildfire Diploma. With the wildfire season approaching, I thought it would be beneficial to outline TRU’s efforts in wildfire education.
I interviewed the Vice Principal Research and Head of Wildfire Portfolio, two professors, and a student to get a better understanding of the program’s development and roll out so far.
I was able to develop my skills in interviewing, writing, and professional communication. Jennifer Chrumka suggested I pitch the story to publish in The Wren.
I am currently in communication with The Wren to edit and rework my article. Working with The Wren Editor, I am focusing on altering the focus and angle to be more appealing to a wider audience.
